On behalf of the staff, we welcome your participation and hope you will consider making the Life Fitness Center a regular stop in your day. If we can answer any further questions for you please ask at the front counter or call 344-4119 for assistance.

Purchased by the City in 1984, the private tennis club was renovated to reflect the fitness needs of the community. Since then, it has undergone several major renovations.

The Fitness Center wants to provide a wholesome, safe environment for all to improve and maintain their health. To insure all members have this opportunity, all participants are expected to conduct themselves in a civil, decent manner. Throughout the facility you will see specific rules posted for the area. These are enforced to insure everyone can enjoy their workout time in a safe and clean facility.
Rules & Guidelines
  • Children in 7th - 8th grades are permitted to lift weights in the Cybex weight room provided they have completed a weight orientation program with our staff and understand and follow rules of etiquette and safety.
  • Free-weight rooms are limited to 9th graders and up.
  • The staff strongly recommends a physical for members 35 years of age and up who are embarking on a physical-conditioning program.
  • Suitable workout clothing and shoes are required. Clothing that has writing or logo of an offensive nature will not be permitted.
  • Cardio room and equipment is limited to individuals 15 years of age and up.  13-14 year olds allowed with direct supervision from parent.
  • Members are encouraged to use the sign-up sheets on cardio equipment and to limit use to 30 minutes.
  • No loitering is permitted.
  • No food or drink is allowed in exercise areas with the exception of water.
  • No horseplay. Please respect the rights of others.
  • Profanity is prohibited.
  • The facility is a tobacco free facility.
  • Anyone under the influence of alcohol or in possession of alcohol will be asked to leave.
  • The center is not responsible for the cost to replace stolen or lost items. Lost and found items are kept in a secured area. Please ask at the front desk to check the lost and found. Items not retrieved within 30 days will be donated to charity.
  • Please DO NOT leave valuables in unlocked lockers.
  • Posted rules and information will be enforced for safety.
  • All members and guests are expected to act in a civil, decent and respective manner. Individuals not conducting themselves in this manner will be asked to leave and may have their membership privileges revoked.
Membership Cards
All I.D. cards will have photos and are non-transferable. Individuals violating this will have their privileges revoked. There is a $5.00 service charge for a replacement card.  Membership and program fees are subject to change. Members are expected to bring their card each time they come to use the facility. Failure to do so will result in lost time for both the member and staff while records are verified.
The Fitness Center permits children (6 years of age to 11 years of age) to play on the basketball courts, use the pool during family swim times, and track provided they are accompanied and supervised by a parent. After 7:00 p.m. children under 12 years of age must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult. All children 11 and under dropped off at the Fitness Center at or after 7 p.m., will have their parents called to come and pick them up.
Medical Examinations
The Bettendorf Park Board strongly recommends a physical for all members, particularly those over 35 years of age, who are embarking on a physical conditioning program.
Cardio Room
This air conditioned exercise room offers a variety of equipment to assist you in improving and maintaining your physical fitness level. Equipment available includes: treadmills, stair steppers, ellipticals, computerized bikes, recumbent bikes, airdynes, and step mill. The room is equipped with BroadCast Vision. Use of the room is limited to those 15 years of age and up, (13 and up with supervision from parent)..
Weight Equipment
The center offers three separate weight rooms for your workouts. The two free-weight rooms, located in the gym area are reserved for individuals 9th grade and up. The two weight rooms are equipped with free weights and a variety of weight machines. The third weight room offers weight machines and an opportunity to cross train. This room is open to members 7th grade and up. All 7th and 8th graders must have a weight room orientation. Orientations are offered to all members with purchase of an initial membership.


Refund Policy
A partial refund will be given for an annual Fitness Center membership for a documented job transfer, medical reasons, or unusual circumstances. A written request must be received along with all membership cards. Percentage of the refund will be given as follows, from the day of purchase: 30-60 days 50%, 61-91 days 25% of total membership fee. No refunds will be given after 91 days and all refunds are assessed a $10.00 processing fee.
